once again... thanks alot!
you guys are simply great
Thanks for the tipp, ssk!
replacing the origin cd-key with the one from my cd version works fine!
Seems like i still need my installation of the cd version in case i want to play on a punkbuster servers.
Anyway many thanks for that modified exe and all the work you guys put in that game.
Thanks for that!
So far it is working fine. I can connect to 1.612 server and the SiMPLE server. However, when i try to connect e.g. to {FG} Aberdeen only which is declared as 1.61 without punkbuster i get the error message "invalid cd-key"! Is this some server side restriction?
I get the same error message when i try to connect to 1.61 servers that have punkbuster enabled. But i think that is normal, right?
Further, when i try to connect to BiHnet BF1942 1.6 (no punkbuster) i get the error message "failed to connect to server"
shouldn't it be possible to connect to 1.6 as well?
i replaced the origin bf1942.exe with the modified one from tuia and battlefield is working without problems...
i can see 1.61 and 1.6 servers in the game browser as well but i can't join... for example to SiMPLE.
i still get the message "Data differs from server"
is this meant to be as it is or is my game bugged?
Hi,
i tried this now several times and it is still not working.
could it be a problem that the server already run with the unedited file before?
what about uploading an edited bf1942_lnxded.static that is known to be working?
it is:
wrong version! do you want to upgrade? (translated)
Thanks for that!
However, it's still not possible to connect with 1.61.
Is there anything i have to pay attention to when i replace the "original" bf1942_lnxded.static with the edited one?
I checked the changes in the file several times so i'm sure there is no mistake.
is it possible to get this specific file from someone else where it worked?

I tried to apply the code but i cant seem to get it right, it outputs a segmentation fault
are you sure you're applying it to bf1942_lnxded.static from my 1.612 tar.gz?

Hi,
can someone please explain to me how to edit the bf1942_lnxded.static file to find and replace the code from above?
I already downloaded XVI32 to edit the file.
I run the server on linux.
Is this the only necessary modification that has to be done when using the "bf1942_lnxded-1.6.1-hacked-to-1.612.tar.gz" to make the server accessible for 1.61 and 1.612?
