#1 BF1942 Discussion » How do I decrease the amount of data pushed through one networkable? » 2023-08-29 16:45:14

Howdy Folks, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to decrease the amount of data, pushed through one networkable? Basically it is my belief that I have added so much custom content to my mod, HTroop, that the data is too much for each of the networkables on various objects. I was wondering if there's a way to spread out that data or decrease the amount of data being pushed through the networkables?

Thank You,

Is there by any chance a program or server add on that anyone has created, that allows you to censor specific words typed in the chat? Something that would replace racist words for example, with asterisks.

#3 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 15:56:52

If you want the names, go ahead and PM me. Otherwise you may end of this thread, as I see no need to continue arguing. Either someone here cares about the racism and is going to take care of it, or they don't care, and it will continue to happen. It is as "SIMPLE", as that.

#4 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 15:36:37

I have been informed of 3 players specifically, that are major nazi supporters and who I have been told of the racist words they sling out. I am willing to private message whomever it may concern. Just tell me who I should message, regarding the matter. And please tell me if something is going to be done about it.

#5 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 15:32:28

Copy and paste some of these "historical statements" (in full sentences please), from the log, and we'll see how non-offensive, or historically correct they truly are. And I would rather not "out" any of my player friends, for fear of them being persecuted.

#6 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 15:30:01

Well, first of all why would you defend anyone that is using the word Hitler to provoke other people?

#7 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 08:24:16

In addition, some of my friends were banned from your server for making your more show off, vengeful admins, look like rookies on the battlefield. So you might want to take a look into that as well. Like I said, you're losing all the worthwhile players due to stupid, ignorant admins & players, and after a while, you'll only be left with them; a cesspool of hateful people, infecting your server like a social virus.

#8 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 08:10:34

All I know specifically, is that there have been a lot of claims that there are still a lot of Nazi PoS's on your server, hating on Jewish people, and referring to people as niggers & sand niggers, quite a bit. Just lately even; lets say within the last couple of months.

#9 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 08:06:55

I really can't tell you. Its been a while for me personally. I've just been hearing things from some other bf1942 player friends of mine, that it is still going on even since after I stopped playing on your server, which was probably more than a year ago. I used to play quite a bit on your servers though, under my callsign, Grand_Admiral.

#10 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Hate » 2020-03-08 02:16:31

No, the post is not a joke. As for when it specifically happened, how about every single time I have ever been on the server, or almost every time everyone else has been on the server. Why don't you make a poll to see how many times this has happened to everyone on your servers? This is one of the reasons I have stopped visiting your servers. I even had a player respond to my post privately, most likely because they were afraid of the hateful people starting something with them over the Forum. If you have to ask me when this happened, you obviously don't pay enough attention to the servers, and the goings-on.

Pardon me Folks,
I wasn't exactly sure which topic to post this question in. I was just wondering why the server creators/admins, allow all these players to play, that's simply use the server as their own personal hate box/arena.  Many times while playing on your servers, I have observed players constantly raging and spewing their hateful words, ORD people of various other races and religions. Are the creators/admins of these servers, also just as hateful as the players that let these hateful words come out of their mouth??
I even heard is that there were a bunch of Nazis (well, Nazi wannabe's anyway, since the Allies kicked their ass & their "great leader", chickened out & shot himself, in World War II), running around in these servers.
I understand that you folks don't want to lose players, but at the same time I would think that you'd be scaring away more of the good and worthwhile players, by allowing these disgustingly hateful people, to bully other players, and take over your servers.

I mean, aren't there rules and policies set up for your servers that talk against people bad-mouthing one another, and creating anti social issues?

Can someone please shed some light on this for me?

Thank You,

Joshua

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to announce that HTroop v1.0b81 has been released, and though I do not have it running on a server at the moment, HTroop and all its required mods, are available for download, at:

https://htroop.mricesolutions.com/

I am also seeking a server team that would be willing to give HTroop a try, by placing it onto their gaming server. Pleaase contact me by replying to this post, or PMing me here on the forum.

Thank You,

Joshua Hales

Well the thing is, first of all I don't have the gear or the funds to run a server myself. Secondly, no other modding team has done what I have done with the game play, physics, or pretty much any of my scripting in HTroop. As for the name, the H in HTroop, stands for my last name, Hales.

Yes, run as admin, but bfsm has never worked correctly for me. I just run it from the bf menu. Multiplay, create game, select mode, maps, etc.

Though Team Simple's bf1942 works very well in singleplayer mode and over coop and other modes, over a dedicated server, when I attempt to run a coop, conquest, or other game mode from the menu, the game crashes to the desktop while loading a map. Is there is fix for this?

#18 Re: BF1942 Discussion » HTroop v1.0b8 Dedicated Server Now Running (Still Need Help Though) » 2016-09-10 21:37:51

Okay, so now there is one other issue I am running into.  The server is still running, no problem there.  However, something I created (the ability for flamethrower fire, lazer tower fire, and other fire effects to burn on objects and the ground and actually damage/kill soldiers if they get to close), seems to be working in SinglePlayer games & over a LAN, but over the dedicated server, it only has the visual effect of burning.  However, it does not damage or kill any soldiers over the dedicated server.  I have tried multiple combinations of networkableinfo settings, adding an end effect template to the projectile, adding the burning effect template to the projectile, etc., and nothing seems to fix this issue.  Can anyone help me fix this?  I have flamethrowers that use this effect, I have flame weapons on tanks that use it, and I have a lazer tower (yes, spelled that way on purpose), that used the effect.

For all those that have been waiting for HTroop v1.0b8's Dedicated Server to be up and running, NOW IS THE TIME!  To download HTroop v1.0b8, goto:  htroop.hootsclan.com

Register there, and have your account approved, to view the link for the Downloads page.

To connect to the dedicated server, goto your Battlefield 1942 multiplayer menu, click Add Server, and type in this IP Address:  74.91.122.160     Port:  14567

As for the other mods required to run HTroop v1.0b8, here are their names and download links:

*Battlefield 1942 (Version 1.61)

*Battlefield:  The Road to Rome (Version 1.6)

*Battlefield:  Secret Weapons of World War II (Version 1.6)

All 3 of the above, may now be found and downloaded from this site:

http://1942mods.com/downloads/battlefield1942/

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Forgotten Hope (Version 0.7)
You may download Forgotten Hope at one of these websites below:

http://www.gamefront.com/mods/forgotten … -full-win7

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Eve of Destruction:  The Indochina Vietnam Conflict (Version 1.50)

**Don't worry, you can still download and play EoD v2.51.  The HTroop v1.0b8 installation file, installs both HTroop in the Mods folder, as well as EoD v1.50 in the Mods\HT_Data folder, allowing HTroop to read off of EoD v1.50 (which I have been given permission to do), with no problems.  As of the current moment, HTroop does not work with EoD v2.51.  So just install HTroop, and you will have EoD v1.50.  I do recommend downloading and playing EoD v2.51; you may download it at the address given below:

http://www.eodmod.org/bf1942/downloads.htm

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Great War (Version 0.14) I found a download site for this version of The Great War mod:

#21 Re: BF1942 Discussion » HTroop v1.0b8 Dedicated Server Now Running (Still Need Help Though) » 2016-09-05 19:45:16

Okay, well, I fixed the SH issue.  Someone made a animations.rfa correction, which allows the SH v1.2 to load.  I was able to create a ContentCrc32.con file for every one of the mods required to run HTroop v1.0b8.  I installed the ContentCrc32.con files within the mods on the server and client.  The clients are having no problems connecting to the server, and the server log file is no longer telling me that it requires ContentCrc32.con files for any of the mods.  However, when a client finishes loading into the server, they are disconnected, and the message "Data differs from server" pops up.  I have no clue what data could be different, as it is all the same.

However, I was wondering, on the Dedicated Server, do I need to have a Battlefield 1942 Server folder, in the EA Games folder, with the mods folder (holding all the mods) copied over to the Battlefield 1942 Server folder?

Should I have the BF1942_w32ded.exe, the DedicatedServer.exe, and any other files, copied over to the Battlefield 1942 Server folder?

I have tried setting the ServerSettings.con file settings:  game.serverContentCheck to 0, to 1, and to 2.  None of them seem to make a difference.

#22 Re: BF1942 Discussion » HTroop v1.0b8 Dedicated Server Now Running (Still Need Help Though) » 2016-09-04 16:42:49

On 2nd thought, I honestly don't know what SH to use.  For some reason, now no versions of SH are loading their maps on my computer.  I have no idea what is wrong.  I am simply trying to generate checksums (a ContentCrc32.con file) for SH and the other mods right now because my dedicated server log demands it.  Any suggestions?

#23 Re: BF1942 Discussion » HTroop v1.0b8 Dedicated Server Now Running (Still Need Help Though) » 2016-09-04 16:11:56

Well, scratch that last comment.  Though HTroop still seems to run with Silent Heroes 1.2, SH 1.2 itself doesn't seem to want to load its maps.  So, I'm just going to use v1.1, just in case.

Yes, Silent Heroes v1.2 Full, does actually work with HTroop v1.0b8.  Thank you for the suggestion.

Please send me download links of the updated files that you suggest downloading and trying.  Its hard to find good copies of some of this mods' install files, online these days.

However, I am not against trying the upgrades to see if they work with HTroop v1.0b8.

#27 Re: BF1942 Discussion » HTroop v1.0b8 Dedicated Server Now Running (Still Need Help Though) » 2016-08-31 06:05:12

Thank You for the compliment.  Which file within HTroop would you prefer I reduce the size of?  If you mean reducing the entire mod's size, I have honestly reduced it all that I can.  The reason it is so large, is mainly due to the number of maps (I even have more maps to edit to work over a network; the ones in the mod's full install are only half of them).  You do realize this is a mini-mod, do you not?  That means that it reads off other mod's data to run.  So, not only is it, itself, a large mod, but include the other mods required and its very large altogether.  Setting that aside though, it is unlike any mod you have ever played.  I guarantee it.

As for Silent Heroes and Eve of Destruction's updated versions becoming  part of the mod, I really have no more time or energy to continuously be editing HTroop to work with updated material in any of the mods it runs off of.  Please understand, its not that I do not respect their creators' hard work, but it was even more work (being only one man), attempting to get each and every object from each and every one of the other required mods, to work with one another without crashing the game.  For many of said objects, I had to completely rework them.  To have to update HTroop every time one of these mod's creation teams updates their mods, would absolutely consume my entire life, and I'm sorry, I can't have that.  Its already consumed 14 years of my life lol (and still, HTroop is not working over a dedicated server properly).  It would be different if I had a modding team the size these other mods have.

I have finally gotten HTroop v1.0b8's Dedicated Server up and running!

I installed Team Simple's new Battlefield 1942 patched version, as well as the expansions, then installed HTroop and its other required mods.

I hit a few bumps along the way though.  The clients were connecting to the server, but when they loaded, it would crash in CoOp mode.  It was the silliest problem.  HTroop v1.0b8 works over the dedicated in CoOp mode now, but the server only allows up to 10 players (bot or other) in CoOp mode lol.  Over Conquest, Team Death Match, and Objective modes, there doesn't seem to be a maximum number of players.  So, I am repacking the HTroop v1.0b8 Full Install files right now, and will place them back where they are supposed to be, to allow them to be downloaded from the download page.  Anyone interested in finally playing HTroop v1.0b8, may download the install files, by going to:

htroop.hootsclan.com

Then you must login.  After logging in, you should be able to see the Downloads link.

Please inform me asap, if you would like to get onto the server and play.  Btw, do not forget to open your TCP/UDP ports for Inbound and Outbound, in your advanced firewall settings; port number 14567 for the Bf1942.exe.

Remember also, to "Allow" Bf1942.exe in your firewall.

Thank You,

Joshua
Professor Smith

P.S.-If anyone can tell me why the Dedicated Server specifically, isn't allowing more than 10 players/bots without crashing, it would be much appreciated.  I have no problems running with more than 10 player slots over a CoOp mode game or otherwise, when starting a game within Battlefield from the in game menu; only when running it from a dedicated server.  I have tried bf1942.exe & the dedicated files of v1.612, and it does not help.  As far as I know, it is not HTroop doing it, as it works just fine when not doing a dedicated game.  Any ideas anyone?

Here are the stats of the VDS I am running HTroop off of through nfoservers.com:

Access to four HT CPU cores (Intel Sandy Bridge or better)
    4096 MB of RAM
    400 GB of RAID-protected storage
    24000 GB of bandwidth transfer

Hello,
I have recently rented a vds and my goal is to run my mini-mod HTroop on it.  Even though HTroop works just fine over a LAN, when I run a dedicated server from my recently rented vds (using your 1.61 bf1942.exe gamespy fix & your 1.61 dedicated server exe), for some reason, my mod's maps crash the game's dedicated server.  They connect just fine; they load almost all the way, then crash the server.  The bflog file says that I am missing contentcrc32.con files for all the mods.  Does your exe file limit the number of maps that will work over a dedicated server, unless contentcrc32.con files are created specifically for said mods?

If that is not the problem, I don't know what is.  If you have any suggestions, please help.

Hello Folks,
My friend Morphos has the HTroop v1.0b5 Dedicated Server up and running, and being that I have been going on each and every one of the other servers I am able to connect to on the master server, including this one, I was hoping that some or all of you, would be willing to reciprocate and at least give the HTroop server a try. I know that HTroop requires a lot of space (with Battlefield 1942, the expansions, HTroop, and the other mods required to run it), but I guarantee you, the experience is worth your download time, and computer space.

Please give it a try and share your thoughts on http://htroop.hootsclan.com

You may of course also download HTroop there (after registering of course). I will be on the server myself today (Friday, December 5th, 2014), this evening around 6pm or so. I hope to see some of you there as well. Once you register at http://htroop.hootsclan.com, I will give you the IP Address.
