Just tried to rejoin and it said I was banned?
Not sure why I got banned this morning. Playing Caen. Got into the Brit arty piece. Drove up to the north bridge by the base and planted some mines to keep the nasty moto nazis out of the main. Drove back down behind the main and fired one round. Looked up and saw that I had killed a teammate. Not sure how. While in the process of typing sorry I was banned. Game over?

I downloaded and saved the Desert Combat 0.7 and final from Moddb. I went to extract the files to 1942 folder and it said I can’t because they are “archived”. I was using 7 zip.

I was on the American team. I put a mine in front of an oncoming Jap tank and it blew up and killed me also. Instant ban. Not sure why? Did not have any Accidental Tk’s.

Apparently I was banned for negative score. Happpened as I was driving carrier in a straight line and I guess someone had a malfunction taking off? Other than that I don’t think I killed anyone else?

Today on simple fra Guatemala south road in just a matter of seconds a couple dudes ran over my mines. Then a bit later I suicided out in the ocean and was banned. Mines were visible in the direction my dudes were driving. Wasn't my fault? Why is a suicide considered a team kill? I rarely do it. Spares you the suffering sounds of a drowning person!
I dl'd the simple punkbuster and it seems to be working. Thx for the replies!
Factory reset my HP Windows 7. Fresh install of 42 cd version. Downloaded 1.6.19 and 1.6.19b form here http://planet-fun.co.uk/index_sub3.html. Installed gamespy patch retail from simple. Can play other servers. Ax doesn't show up so I added the ip. Join their games...map almost loads then crashes. Av and firewall stopped. I'm guessing an updated punkbuster? What am I missing?

Got it. Installed 42, RR, and SW. 1.6.19 to b then gamespy patch. Seems to be working. Thanx for the input.
Link to torrent would not open. Searched torrent battlefield 1942 sent me to a skidrow download. Had to download utorrent first then a rar file extractor which asked for a password. Per the skidrow instructions I went to an uploadsnack site where it wanted to to do a survey and go through page after page of ad crap to "unlock the secret password". Guess I'll reload the cd version then the 1.6.19 patch and then the gamespy patch next and see what happens.
Thanks for the replies. Never used torrent? Looks like I have to download torrent and then the file? Does it install automatically?
Also just did a factory reset and actually got my Windows updates current.
As above. What all do I need after a fresh install of CD version? Windows 7 64.
I watched a guy shoot a bazooka and destroy a plane yesterday evening at the airfield because he didn't get it. I got dudes payback for him. Now I'm banned. For how long I don't know. I guess it would have been ok if I used a bazooka instead of a mine. Is this the worst thing that happens on this server...hell no! I've had a guy keep jumping in my arty piece and running it off a cliff.....repeatedly....and this fk didn't get banned. Am I sorry...not really. This server has so many asshats that it not fun anymore. Would I do it again. Probably but a bit more tactfully.

Map starts to load and then it disconnects me. I just reinstalled from CD. Servers show up so there's something stilli in the directory after uninstall? Downloaded 1.61 and replaced files. After replacing the files is when I get the driver errors when clicking the modified exe file or desktop icon. Did not install game spy or game spy patch nor punkbutster?
AVG disabled.
Have run it in Xp and admin also. Noticed when replacing files that it asks to overwrite two separate mod files. Instructions list one?
Did that a couple times. Copied exe and mods...replaced files click on icon and it tells me I'm missing BFCPRT.dll. Downloaded a BFCPRT and then it told me I was missing another driver. Did a repair... uninstall ... Reinstall. I then tried just the gamespy patch. Plays single player fine. Just not able to join servers?
Been playing on this PC for years. Windows7. Have done several fresh installs with CD's. I can see servers but keep getting disconnected. I've done the game spy patch no luck. I've downloaded the retail patch 1.61 no luck. I've downloaded version 1.612 and no luck. Last time I installed it the servers showed up without any further actions but I still can't join games. Do I need punkbutster etc.... Any input would be greatly appreciated.
