Turbo APC

We were talking about it yesterday and someone came with the idea (perhaps Arp273 I don't remember)

Is it possible to make such a vehicle?

A quick example with the same engines as the jeeps on El Al, but w/o the damage mod.
My driving is just marginally better than Piper's, and this was hard to control.

The default map is El Al, but you can change it to Market.  I drove the apc again w/o keeping
it pegged, and was of course more manageable.  IMO, it should not have this much speed tho.
And which maps do you see this as a viable option?

I think that it might be worth to introduce it to players at El-Alamein CTF and collect the feedback after it.

Ok, so I have tested it and here are my thoughts:

-The acceleration thrust should be approx 70% of current value
-The reverse/deceleration thrust should be approx 50% of current. It will reduce the oversteer during braking in a turn.
-Perhaps allied boxy apc should have the center of gravity lowered by 50% to reduce the roll to make it somewhat controllable.
-Both apc's should probably get impact damage resistance increased by 100% of current value, since crashing and exploding happens way too often.

Could you customize those settings, so that we can try a secondary test? smile
Is there a list of parameters we can fiddle with to twrak this to a decent ride?

I said it as a joke that we needed turbo apcs, we went from el ala to Bulge, as axe I drove apc to back base and it felt like a snail ^^

Someone with an understanding of vehicle physics is needed to make the proper adjustments there.

As for changing the center of gravity, a quick internet search has left me feeling that this cannot
be done as a SSM.

I have reduced the damage from 2 to 1 (for reference, the ctf jeeps are at 0).
The mod is also on Bocage now, as it provides more unobstructed landscape.

Yes, I think it became sturdier after that. Meaning that I can crash into a house and it will not explode instantly but decrease hp by a significant amount. It will be prompting to drive it with caution and skill.

In regards to engines
Let's leave the stock engine un-altered and modify only the turbo specs.


Also, could you please set these parameters, I want to see how it will behave:

Ok, so the acceleration was tamed a bit. That's good. But the reverse does almost nothing.
Let's try these:

Using the ctf jeep mod (right click):
ObjectTemplate.setMaxSpeed 0/0/50000

ObjectTemplate.setTorque 35.0

Using the ctf jeep mod (left click):
