Hi all,

After a few weeks of deliberation I have decided that I want to leave Battlefield 1942 and gaming permanently. This is not because of the actions of one or many individuals on SiMPLE or elsewhere, it is just my desire to move on from gaming in general and spend more time doing other activities.

It has been so much fun organizing all these small scale cups on the forums. In the beginning I thought it would be a total waste of time. I thought no one would bother participating. Many competitive events later, I stand corrected. It was one heck of a challenge to host these events, most of the time all alone, but we pulled it off. This just shows how resilient this community is. I think with a bit more work and a dedicated website, SiMPLE could host it's own competitive league for BF1942. We are so close to doing that right now.

The latest 1v1 tournament didn't go as planned, as many of my cups. But it was still memorable regardless with some incredible actions by all the contestants. BF1942 history in the making.

I am so glad to have worked with some incredible people here, whether to make clans, host various events or to make maps or mods. I would like to thank the following people:

1) Jim2102, for his dedication to modding and mapping, and helping me with my Raised Fist mod. It was also an honor to play with you in all these cups we hosted. Thanks for all the hard work you put in, I really appreciate it mate.

2) tuia, for providing the essential servers for all the cups I organized and providing great advice on the technical side of BF1942. Without you, no Mini League and no cups.

3) ziba128, for the hard work you put in testing and making meshes for my Raised Fist mod. The bunker model you made is really excellent, and one of the most immersive mesh interiors I have ever seen. Thanks a ton!

4) KILLER88, for helping me host the Raised Fist TDM event (and winning it!). You really did a good job, and this event wouldn't have been possible without you.

5) Arkos, for all the hours you put into {SoH}, gathering players, organizing scrims and doing strategies. {SoH} would still be alive if you had been the leader from day one. I always sucked at making clans, and you did a much better job than me in that aspect.

6) Flettnerman, for the great work you did arbitrating the Mini League Infantry matches and helping me balance some maps.

7) ABAS, for all the fun matches we had in the 2v2/3v3 infantry leagues I made. You saved my ass more than once and have always been a great teammate.

8) GANAPOLSKOE, for filming all the events I hosted and showing the public how intense they were, and also, giving ABAS and I a good ass kicking in the Final of the SW/RTR 2v2 Infantry Cup of 2018!

Of course, there are others, ex {SoH} members, Moss, RaketenHorst, LuccaWulf, reegad, Paul Baumer, Denny, Insane, Vojislav, TheoNeo, Crash, Trench. To the others I haven't named, you know who you are

I hope someone can carry the torch of SiMPLE cup organizing. KILLER88, Flettnerman and tuia would be great candidates, but if you guys can't commit, I will totally understand.

This has been a great ride with some awesome memories being made, and I hope the SiMPLE community, and by extension, BF1942, can continue to be resilient and live on for a few more years.

Mamba, I wish I could have played in your tournaments. You have done great things to keep the game alive and keep it interesting for us, addicts. I have nothing but respect for you and hope to see u some day back. I really do.

As Sunshine says, no one leaves. It's denial and isolation now, then it will be anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance in the end. I'm talking about Mamba's comeback, maybe incognito.
