TDM Summer 2020 Competition [CUP FINISHED]

Hi all,

I'd like to host a TDM cup maybe next weekend. It would be done on my Raised Fist mod, on the RF_Labyrinth map for the early stages, and the RF_Oasis map for the final stage. The cup would last only a few hours.

I am planning on hosting the event on Saturday, August 1st, 2020 @ 19:45 CET.

RULES

1) 20 players. 5 stages. At each stage, 5 players are eliminated, with the exception of the semi-finals, where only 3 players are eliminated.

2) The first stage is a knife-only match. It will be done with all 20 players that sign up. After the first stage, the 5 lowest ranking players are eliminated. The top 15 players then move on to the second stage, which will be a pistol-only match. Then, the top 10 players play in a Shotgun-only match. The second-last stage, the semi-finals, will be done with the top 5 players of the previous round. All weapons are allowed there. In this stage, only the top-two players move on to the final stage, where again all weapons are allowed. In the final stage, two rounds of 30 minutes will be played.

3) In the first stage (and all other stages where knives are permitted), knives can be thrown as well.

4) No talking is allowed during the competition. You may only speak with your team mates using the L key. However, remember that even though you are playing in a team for most of the tournament, it is still every man/woman for himself/herself.

5) Signing up for the event is first come, first served as usual.

6) I would appreciate if we could get someone to film the event, and possibly comment the matches. If nobody can be found for this I will do it myself, and thus step out of the tournament.

7) PunkBuster will be used on the cup server, so make sure you have the latest version otherwise you won't be able to join the server.

8) I am still working on the map files, but should have them finished by the end of the week. Check this thread frequently for a download link to the latest version of the mod you will need for this event, my Raised Fist mod.

9) Highest score at the end of each round wins (not frags, because you still get penalties for team killing).

Signing up is easy, basically just tell me if you are OK with the event date I posted above, and that you are IN. That's it.

MAPS AND CUP STAGES

As already mentionned, each stage of the competition will have different rules. Here is how each stage of the competition will be played.

A) First stage: the map for this stage will be RF Labyrinth. It will be a 10v10 knife only round with randomly created teams. Knife throws are permitted.

Team 1: Dionysus, Moss, 115, Greek Leader, Meduhk, Jim2102, Volturi, GANAPOLSKOE, Goldie, Lecter
Team 2: petrosyan, Hell Breaker, USA, Black Mamba, TheoNeo, jorgen, RaketenHorst, Hofnerd, Goldman Sachs, KILLER88

B) Second stage: the map for this stage will be RF Pitch Black. It will be a 8v8 pistol only round. Teams will be the same as the first stage, minus four players.
C) Third stage: the map for this stage will be cut. It will be a 6v6 shotgun only round.
D) Fourth stage: the map for this stage will be a BF1942 conversion of the de_aztec map from CS. It will be a 4v4 round, all weapons allowed.
E) Final stage: the map for this stage will be RF Oasis. It consist of two 1v1 rounds, all weapons allowed.

I was lucky alot in the semis. Barely got through. Thank you to everyone who played in this TDM and big thanks to Mamba for organising it. Was a lot of fun. Looking forward to compete in more cups.

First round and the cut rounds were pretty intense. We have to find a way to get rid of this annoying knife throw sound bug lol.

Fun fact, the first round had 300 frags in 20 minutes, or 15 frags per minute. Not bad considering only knives were used.

Just completed the score sheet, here it is:

A few cool facts:

1) Players, on average, fragged other players the same amount of times they were killed.
2) An astounding 977 frags were scored during the whole competition.
3) HofNerd had the highest ratio, 1.47.
4) 42 teamkills/suicides happened.
5) Although we were supposed to have 20 players in the event, only 16 played.

On another note, a few things could have been improved during the event, such as:

1) People not showing up for the event even though they registered. We all have IRL stuff happening but if you know you can't play at the event, please do not register.
2) Players that didn't register for the event joining the event and playing.
3) Me being stupid and not unchecking the autokick at minus score setting in BFSM.
4) Not having someone to arbitrate the games, and most of all film them.
5) The RF Oasis final map had too many places to hide, these could be removed in the future.
6) Organizing events as a team definetly helps, and should be done for future events.

Please give me your feedback on this cup as I would like to help other people organize similar events in the future. Tell me what you liked and didn't like during the event, and if you were happy with the map pick.

U said CET zone, but started playing by the CEST time zone, i missed cuz of that.
Other then that, yesterday it was possible to enter server and play, while this evening when I try to enter my game crashes.
U cant change things on the day of the event.

You couldn’t join because you didn’t have the correct game files. I PMed you the correct ones before the event though. You will have the chance to play in the next event.
