Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

now that u got me started tongue taken into consideration that the earth has an ellipsoid shape, the gravity, the friction of the air, the parabolic trajectory thus the angle of fall and many other factors its pretty impossible to hit something dead on at a 90 degree angle. in nature we rarely meet a 90 degree, except some crystals (pyrite, halite, galena, some feldspar and others)

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

nämeless is right, a 90-degree angle shot between trajectory of shell and armour surface will give most damage (sin 90º = 1). The webpage linked in this first post talks about this: http://www.realtimerendering.com/erich/ … apons.html

Perfect shots: each shot hits the target dead-on. If the surface hit is tilted, the target takes less damage (it's the cosine of the angle of impact).

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

I have a few too big_smile

1) Is it avalible to shoot through walls? (like Guadal canal thin houses). Which weapons do so and what is the damage? I think I saw medics even do that but don't know the "math" of it all.
2) What is the maximum range on which deflac can be activated? For ex: can I be on south El alamein and blow up north point if needed?

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

I know that if you have planted the exppacks and walked to the ammo crate you will have 4 expacks again, but the old planted ones will dissapear.

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

3 Minutes exept in CTF.

In this game, walls of all kind can even protect against 38cm artillery shells but you can put your legs through.
If players think the enemy can shoot through the wall, it probably happened extremely short after they have taken cover behind ist. The "Hit-Box" is delayed with respect to your actions so you think you are save before you really are. Other cases: They have parts of their Body(legs) on the other side of the wall or they didn´t see that they got shot through a window.

As far as i know the detonator of the aa shells has a maximum time=range until it explodes, with good visibility the end of the range is in sight so you can´t hit far out of good sight.

not exactly, you can place 8 xpacks at maximum, if you walk to the ammobox again and take another 4 and place them the first 4 will disappear

you can plant more than 4 xpacks i think. The xpacks and mines will disappear if you plant too many, not when you fill up your 4 xpacks again. I think you can plant 10 mines and about 8 xpacs. Need to check it later.

So the range of exppack is the visible range? I think it should be tested.

** BTW today i played a CTF-type map. Tried to put some exppack around the flag to kill some sneaky bastards ...and... my exppack blew me almost instantly... 3 times it happened, after which i decided its not a bug, its a rule of somekind? Can anybody explain why this happened?Cause i remember playing ctf in Berlin and my bombs were working normally )

The second part is about AA shells, not xpack.
I´m not aware of a maximum distance for mines or xpack.

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

Heroes!
Expacks can be max 8.
4 at first than get 4 from ammobox and after you put down 8, 1 will desappear after you put the 9th.
And you can blow up expacks from the other side of the map. There is no limit, only time limit, 5 mins.

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

Once i tested it, it was 3 Minutes for xpack(don´t know which server).

Today i tested it on SiMPLE and it was 4 minutes, mines 6 minutes.
The first xpack disappears when you throw number 10, every time i tested that.

Re: Battlefield 1942 FAQ

Well, setting to lower speed basically asks the server to send less data, it could be some visual effects or something of that kind, not really sure. Anyway less data = less chance of packetloss i guess.

shout-out to - Lecter and others that experience bad connections when playing.
