i see more like around 270 after subtracting duplicate entries and known fake/idle player servers

386 players without 2 aX server copies
Edit: 323 players without 3 copies

I monitor those numbers too, and todays peak was roughly 300, not 323

Iike ssk says, there are two servers with fake player numbers, you gotta subtract those too

@ ssk, yes, was close to 270 most of prime time, but rose briefly to 300, as I saw it.

All peaks Monday to Friday this week have been within 260-300 (+/- ~10% uncertainty)

This includes of course, all mods (Forgotten Hope, Desert Combat, etc.).

For straight BF1942, daily peaks are 150-200.

What is important for me is that there are still enough players to have some fun, so I am really happy it worked out this way.

There aren't enough players around any more, to have sufficient amounts of fun in my opinion.

Thats right, playing in server  with less than 30 players is not funny.
We need to stop other servers and make 3-5 servers still alive ,this way those servers will stay crowded.

Excellent idea, I alone will pick three servers that are allowed to continue running, I'll PM the owners of the rest right away and tell them to shut down immediately.

Well, on second thought I think you are right. I wonder if without the free download on origin back then the game would have died much earlier?

I saw a global population of 473 yesterday, but that was with the duplicate servers. Still not bad for a game on life support.

master.gamespy.com does not resolve to any IP address anymore, which means those players with unpatched game, it will no longer freeze when they click INTERNET button in-game.

Yeah, I'm coming back into the 1942 fold and I'm bringing my daughters with me.  Btw, is anyone still playing 2142?  I'm resurrecting my 1942 server and thinking about building another 2142 server as well. 
PS.  Why does the random American soldier in 1942 always look like Nicholas Cage?  (I mean, the acting ability is kind of similar).
