It seems you might need the 4 GB patch, the Debug.exe is 2GB i assume https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=135129
Black Mamba wrote:Yes, the commands above deal with the amount of CPU given to the bots, while the command you posted deals with the skill that is given to them.
Fair enough. OP's question was "turn down a little bit on skill", which is why I wasn't sure. I had also assumed they were giving feedback of "can you do that on Team-SiMPLE", rather than "how can I do that." But I may not have the complete context.
I gather that players feel that the bot settings have been altered (harder), but no one here seems to knows for sure.
The krux is that if/when someone are running bots in conquest-mode it seems like the ai doesnt work like its supposed to, for instance the bots doesnt seem to listen to the radio commands at all and so they can seem to be even more dumber than they normally do, but at the same time they might get "to good" at aiming perhaps, so if they did change from coop to conquest+bots that might be one reason, or even moving to a more powerful server could perhaps boost the bots in some parts relative to a slower server.
Anyway i have some "conquestbots" in my server too, and some days ago i actually tried to change those settings i posted about in the server console when i was playing in the server, but it didnt change anything at all, or not what i could notice anyway. And i did try both small and extreme values both up and down the scale but still no dice.

Works for me just fine.
The only 2 bugs I encountered on win 11 is that
-you can't change the keyboard layout mid game (from typing EN to RU for example)
-sometimes when the game is folded (alt-tabbed), it can crash in a few minutesOn 10 it's same, and sometimes game crashes instantly after Alt+Tab. Layout issue can be solved with switcher software
When alt/tab on win 10 the bf42.exe goes down to 0% cpu and short after the game goes kaputt, so i think it might be some windows powersaving thing, i have googled and looked around in windows settings, but i cant find anything usefull.
Check this out https://www.moddb.com/games/battlefield … 6-19-debug
Also use renderer.setFullScreen 0
The BF1942 debug executable will list any data errors in your custom mod or map. Used correctly, it will allow you to improve frame rate, stability and overall robustness for your mods and custom BF1942 maps. The debug exe will allow you to pinpoint where in your custom mod/map the problem lies.
I think its either tuias files or from my cd's cant remember, but its not origin version. Try run the game in windows mode and see what happens then.
Just tested henk's file and it seems to work aok here atleast.

Thanks! lol i just now saw the big "Gamespy Patch" in the announcement field at the top. I couldnt see that when i had the standard forum theme (or they did sneak it in just now

Client: https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 68#p176268
Server: https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 70#p176270I've used the server one, but not the client.
Also the game is very sensitive about sound settings, the files must be there and in the right spot. A quick way to test for that problem is to "rem" (remark, same as # in linux world) any new sounds when testing.
ObjectTemplate.create HandFireArms MedPack
ObjectTemplate.networkableInfo HandFireArmsInfo
rem - ObjectTemplate.loadSoundScript Sounds/MedPack.ssc <------- this file is skipped
ObjectTemplate.itemIndex 5
Nobody i know of knows for sure what that Blackscreen.exe really does, but the closest guess i have is that it might have something to do with the spawn interface. If you tick that box it will make the background all black when selecting where to spawn.
I have never heard about black borders in fullscreen, but if i would hazard a guess i think you problems might be related to the gpu-scaling settings, but not sure. Try and run the game in windows mode and see how it behaves is always good when troubleshooting in my opinion (it might give you fault messages that doesnt show in fullscreen mode).
If you drop me a link to henks exe, i can try how it behaves on my computer.
Start with trying to change the itemIndex to "vanilla" settings just to see if the game runs ok.
ObjectTemplate.create HandFireArms MedPack
ObjectTemplate.networkableInfo HandFireArmsInfo
ObjectTemplate.loadSoundScript Sounds/MedPack.ssc
ObjectTemplate.itemIndex 5 <------------------------------------- placement nr where the items go
Im not sure, i dont have much experience with ai code. But i see similiar settings often in the ai files.
i think one way to limit cheats could be by using some form of so called "thin clients", essentially meaning no game-files on the players computers.
Yes in server-console (you can type command without any values first to get the running settings). Assuming the first command is something like cpu% for the ai, but it should be easy to test out the different command settings by using extreme high/low values as a starting point
Ai.AiSystemQuotient 0.5
Ai.SetAISystemComponentsQuotient 9 1
This could be changed ingame by a admin-command (txt-based include command), i havent tested this feature in dept myself, but probably doable to change it for all maps simultaneously by placing it in some strategic .con file like somewhere in Game.rfa or it could work per map basis should it be desirable with different values/map

In theory you fly under him, making him feel soil under his feet for a brief moment (your plane), this causes the parachute to fold back and if he is sleepy he might not open it back in time.
ah i see, sounds about right. i guess as usual nothing seems like it really is in bf42 depending on latency and such.

I have been shot from front sitting in pilotseat of SBD more than once, plane on the ground not moving and enemy soldier shooting with handguns. But i think it may be a bug when that happens, long time ago there was talk that a good sniper could hit pilots when they was flying, but i think something was changed in a patch. Also the BAR m1918 was changed to give less damage.
I fiddled around with a software called Parsec for a while, but i couldnt get it working satisfactory so i gave up pretty quickly. Was thinking maybe it could be used to host a set of bf42 instances and/or other games.
Check it out on the link below if you are curious.
Parsec is a proprietary desktop capturing application primarily used for playing games through video streaming. Using Parsec, a user can stream video game footage through an Internet connection, allowing one to run a game on one computer but play it remotely through another device

Maybe work using vlc?
Well, setting to lower speed basically asks the server to send less data, it could be some visual effects or something of that kind, not really sure. Anyway less data = less chance of packetloss i guess.
shout-out to - Lecter and others that experience bad connections when playing.

I think if setting 56k modem today, you cant spawn if there is many players or to much mods. Its possible to cap the server bandwidth but it starts to lag if many players or lots of mods. Ivé done it once cus one datacenter i used back then had fixed or limited rates you could use a month, and that company wanted more cash then i had payed for the whole server to add some bandwidth. that was some fugly uckers lol
Just one thing to think about, everything you see in-game is a best guess scenario, the network info is very simple, it just tells that a bullet/bomb/zook has been fired but it doesnt follow that bullet/bomb/zook real trajectory. Probably because it would have to send so much data it couldnt coop with it, especially not if you consider that the game was made 2002 and people had at best slow 56k phone modems. And to make things worse it has a "random generator" weapon deviation on on top of that. (largely depending on players movement, but also when standing still on some weapons)
What you see is not what u get in this case, sadly.
I just randomly read this.
I have a NVIDIA GPU and I use shadowplay the only way I can get the recording tool to work with bf1942 or Command and Conquer generals zero Hour is by enabling desktop record mode for some reason doesn't want to recognise DirectX 8 Games for in game recording mode.
Same with AMDs software, it works for a while but then just stop functioning, so i have to use the record desktop thingy, and most annoying of all is when i have to alt/tab the game and start the recording then go back to game again.
oh and looking at taskmanager with desktop recording enabled, the "video encode" section is sometime using like 90% depending of resolution used. Very irritating.
With a bit of work one can separate player and bots spawn places in the map, and also make bots-spawn delayed at start and/or set a timer on bot spawns so as to control how many can entering the map at one time-unit. If for example also moving the bots-spawns just a bit from the usual spawns and then place some jeeps close by, they should use those first and thus free up other vehicles for ordinarie players.
I have tried it in a live server in coop-mood, but the principles are the same for Conquest.
i do like this ever wondered something about windows and why it is like it is, then this guy propably knows.
I remember when my isp started campaigning for woip-telephony and tv-over-internet boxes, these things took a lot of bandwith and also was prioritized in their networks, so all of a sudden gaming went from good to sheit like from one day to the other.
Applications Have Distinct Needs
• E-mail is tolerant of delay, but every bit of data
must ultimately be delivered correctly.
• For real time WWW traffic, delay must be low,
but moderate variability of delay is permissible.
• Real time Voice over IP (VoIP) and video are
tolerant of modest loss, but intolerant of large
and variable delay
Cross-Provider Differentiated Services
• Internet services today are best-efforts.
• Commoditized service, with marginal price equal to
marginal cost.
• Differentiated services are of limited value today.
– Best-efforts are good efforts, so little incremental
advantage for differentiated services.
– Customers have no demonstrated propensity to pay a
premium for better CoS for data services.
– Better CoS for real time voice and video still interesting.
– CoS today is limited to a single provider’s network.
And so on.

There is some difference with running bots in conquest mode versus coop. I had some conversations with henk about this, but dont remember if there was a conclusion/solution. I have very little experience with bot-modding, but i think it would be possible to change some of their decision values, meaning something like "take tank=low" but then they might not use tanks at all in any map, so it would affect gameplay a bit.
