Automatic kick for minus score was increased to -9, to account for extra teamkills. Maybe with this change some players will get booted from the server, if they aren't careful. Comes to my mind someone using the B17 in Bocage or the PrinceOW in Iwo Jima.
Hi TOOKIE! Glad to hear from you. The French server doesn't show up on Gamespy in-game server list when it has over 64 players, if you wanna join it you should manually connect to it or use a server browser like HSLW or Xfire.
-=TL=-'s web page is http://teamliberation.net76.net/. Your PunkBuster problem may be due to using an outdated PB version. You should download PunkBuster installer from http://www.pbbans.com/forums/punkbuster … 12090.html. Never had any problems with that.
SiMPLE | BF1942 No key [USA] will have some new modded maps, little by little.
Ok. I will set it at 100%, for testing, but I think it will be mayhem, lots of teamkills.
As a test, friendly fire will be increased to 30% of the damage, currently it's at 0%, only friendly fire splash damage is at 30%.
Do you prefer it disabled? Should there be friendly fire kickback to persuade teamwounders?
I don't know any other alternative website.
I'm too in favor of increasing the round time. If the majority of the players agree, then it will be.
As suggested by sergfa, should the round time be increased? It's currently at 30 minutes, but in the beggining it was set at 36 minutes and some players found it a bit too long for some maps. What is your opinion about the round time?
That player called Sepp, Pistol or Caesar is not Hurricane[PL]. He is also an abusive player and he will be banned.
Maybe you screwed up your DirectX files, or it can be an issue with your graphic card.
Ok, no map voting on France server.
SiMPLE | BF1942 No key [USA] server is in Los Angeles, California, you should have a low ping there. All conquest maps will be added, it was a mistake, and you can map vote there.
Yes, that's the problem about map voting. I don't know if your idea is doable. I guess map voting could be enabled by a command and disabled afterwards, let me check.
Yes, now you can target any player ID up to 127, but if that player doesn't show up on BFSM player list, he can't be targeted.
There is another limitation I was not aware of in BFServerManager. The guy who coded BFSM decided to limit everything to maximum 64 players, in the players list, when targeting the players ID and when selecting the maximum players for the server, and probably more checks. I'll try to fix that, If not possible maybe try to find another alternative to BFSM. In the meantime, when the server has more than 64 players, some players don't show up on the players list, they can't be targeted and if it's an admin, BFSM doesn't recognize his commands.
You can customize the volume fading.
Default settings only reduce the volume to 80% even if they're too far away to be seen, it's barely noticable that they're not close. You can make it so people get muted if too far away (and specify how far that is in meters) but I personally set it to 1% so I can still hear a very faint noise if people are in the game far away.
lol nice textures.
Hmm... Ok, I will change BFSM in some minutes and I will test it against some players in the server.
It's a problem with BFServerManager, it doesn't support in-game commands against a player with an ID greater than 64. I'm trying to fix now the limitations in BFServerManager. As for that player he will be banned permanently.
After a server crash, it only disrupts map cycle if the map list was changed in BFRemoteManager. The map cycle, usually, gets changed everyday and it's saved to a file called ServerMaplist.con by BFServerManager. After a server crash or a restart of the server, BFSM overwrites the actual Maplist.con with its ServerMaplist.con contents and the BF1942 server executable reads that new Maplist.con file.
3D sound is different, but similar to Mumble's positional audio. Positional audio lets you hear voice chat according to the speaking person's position relative to you in a supported game. Let's say, I've activated positional audio for BF1942 in Mumble, if I'm voice chatting to someone in Mumble and I'm next to him on his right in BF1942, he will hear my voice louder from his right speaker. It's based on your position in the 3D world, and the direction you are looking in.
Read this page for more info: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Positional-Audio.
It's being already announced on the server. Eventually, people will join the voice channel while playing. Unfortunately, Mumble is not as popular as TeamSpeak and some may be put down by its plain looks. Mumble is a very good voice program, it even has positional audio for BF1942, you'll have to activate the plugin, so you can hear your teammate from where he is in the game.
We have now a Mumble server for voice communication. You need to download the latest Mumble client package for Windows, install it and configure your microphone and speaker/headphones settings. Then select Server > Connect > Add New... and enter:
Label: <anything you wish>
Address: 188.165.220.115
Port: 64738
Username: <your username>
Then select it and Connect. Accept the certificate, and you are good to go.
To learn something more about Mumble, read the guide at http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Mumbleguide/English.
Battlefield 1942 is no longer supported by PunkBuster. I don't believe installing PunkBuster can solve your current problem, as our server doesn't have PunkBuster enabled. You can try, however, to install PunkBuster from here: http://www.pbbans.com/forums/punkbuster … 12090.html.
Back on topic, please. Lecter wrote it clearly:
.. if we keep setting news maps eventually we lose track of map cycle and we keep getting the same maps again and again.
This should be handled very carefully and in my opinion only should be allowed when server crashes or late night when server is not full and there's a long map that eventually will make players leave.
Admins are NOT owners of the server and the server is NOT for their own amusement and pleasure!
I ask every admin not to change maps, because that changes the map cycle, and some maps get repeated again. In case of a server crash and the map gets repeated use !runnext command.
That's really weird. Are you using any firewall while playing? If so, try disabling it.
A video is preferred. Use Bandicam, Fraps or Xfire to record your video. It can be in a low resolution.
Please post a video or some screenshots. I want to see to believe it. Sorry for doubting you, but today there has been too much trolling around here.
Try connecting to RusBF.ru or SiMPLE | BF1942 No key [USA]. There is no plausible reason not to be working.
Hi abortminor,
Have you tried playing in other BF1942 servers? Do you keep getting disconnected there?
