TOOKIE, i've disabled Friendly Fire on USA server, because of the teamkillers. Kickback has a problem, if someone of your team steps over your mines, you'll get killed because of the kickback, no matter how low it is.
Do you know how to do that? I know this bazooka cheat is caused by a bug in the kits using modified .rfa files.
someone on the modforum made a script that let you connect to a server directly from a weblink, i can dig it up if you want it.
That's interesting, can you share it?
Lots of players use the in-game server browser to connect to servers, unfortunately. This is a BF1942.exe flaw, it should not lock if there is no response from GameSpy master server, you should be able to browse your Server and Favorites list, without updating them.
Almost 4 kills per minute! Impressive score.
Hahaha. Go tell that to an italian. History aside, I like some Road to Rome maps like Monte Cassino, Salerno and Operation Husky. I too don't know much of custom maps. If there is a popular EA Community Mappack, then the maps should be picked from there.
HoOK, I'm almost sure that cheater you saw it wasn't in our servers, because they have content-check enabled.
Yes, Gamespy master server is down, or better is not responding to requests. If you try to connect from in the game, you click Multiplay and then Internet button, it will lock your computer. I think this a temporary problem, I've seen it before.
You can connect to any BF1942 server from Xfire.
Last Sunday, we had a record of 91 players on the server packed in Iwo Jima map:
If anyone wants to make up a list of some funny commands, i'll email him asking for it.
It can be created without much trouble a custom maps server, but what maps to include?
bf-league.eu is running this maps in the current memoCup:
Cherbourg
Operation Forager
Dukla Pass
Abandoned City
Tigerpass
Faid Pass
Hells Highway
Murmansk
Fields of the Fallen
Benghazi
Grutz Point
Giza
Battle of Africa
Karden Khaos
KurskayDuga
The Great Pursuit
Battle Mountain
Battle of Korsun
Warschau
Schneeman
There are 2 extra commands already. Try to find them
what should be the ingame average for FPS normally?
Above 60 fps is recommended, because your frame rate is also bound by your monitor refresh rate, which is usually 60 Hz.
Maybe these 2 steps can help you.
1, Set the "windows xp sp3 compatible" to bf1942. (right click,compatible ...)
2, Give system operator rights. (right click,at the bottom of the small window ...)I have win7 and play with these settings. I don't have problems.
I found this on another forum... i know one who tried it and it worked. He had always lags and a unsteady ping between 90 and 200 or something. After this tip his ping was always at 30.
The unsteady ping in some games with Windows 7 is related with a sound problem, which can be fixed by editing the Windows registry. Found it: Windows 7 Ping Spikes [FIX].
Another related interesting post: Counter-Strike 1.6, Windows 7, and lag spikes. The sequel.
You may also download TCP Optimizer, but it won't help at all in BF1942. However, your download and upload speed will be improved.
Yes, Sloop. It will be hosted in this website, but first some changes and testing have to be made, which takes some time.
Ok, either a Road to Rome and Secret Weapons server or Custom Maps server. The new server will be for 36 players, for now.
Ok, your ban is revoked, as we aren't 100% sure you used cheats. We will keep an eye on you and see if you are playing fair.
Lower than -6 points you are autokicked if BFServerManager is running, that day it was not the case, it had crashed.
spy77, please respect the admins, even if you believe it was an unfair decision. It's not much longer till the 1 day ban expires, then you can prove that you are an honest and respectable player. Thanks.
It took longer than expected, but there is no problem with the upgrade. The BF1942 server is now logging all game events so they can be used for statistics, in the future.
Rules can be changed on the spot, if there is a clear abuse of them.
No, it's not your internet connection. I'm almost sure is something related with your video settings. Use Fraps or Bandicam and you'll see if your frames go down to around 20 or 10 in a crowded Aberdeen map, that's when you'll notice that choppy play. If they do, you'll have to lower the video settings or try some more advanced tweaks. It's all listed in How to improve gameplay topic.
Thanks, I didn't know those commands. There are other commands you can also try taken from this page: http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/420/ba … ndex6.html. For example, place renderer.useTrilinearFiltering 0 in your VideoDefault.con file for a possible extra performance.
It was a 1 day ban for basecamping.
Shing, do try to play in servers where basecamping is allowed, and make an effort to always play on the losing side, the team that's being basecamped. Especially, in maps like Kursk or Battleaxe, when they steal all your vehicles and you are cornered in your main base. It's no fun to play like that, maybe to those that basecamp is.
X=X=X=X=X=X=X=X, I believe you are wrong. I've checked in the server the spawntimes after getting killed and it was never greater than 12 seconds.
You were banned because you teamkilled.
X=X=X=X=X=X=X=X, is right. The server handles fine 90 players, the lag you get is on your side. I experienced too in Aberdeen, but I've disabled in-game sounds in the Options menu and the fps rate is much better now. Of course, disabling sound is a drastic measure. You could try lowering the sound quality or trying to enable hardware acceleration or even reducing the number of channels, to see if it helps. Also try to reduce the screen resolution or lowering video quality. Anyway, you should use a program like Bandicam or Fraps to always check your fps in-game. Fraps has a nice feature that lets you benchmark your fps, saving all values to a .csv file.
Nice tuia, hopefully major lag issues are resolved. Yesterday at Aberdeen alot were complaining about it. It was like moving in slow motion
Lecter, I am certain the lag you experience is on your side, and it is due to frame drops, any frames per second (fps) rate below 30 is unplayable, just as you say it, it is like moving in slow motion.
As for the server it will be reformatted and updated.
On Wednesday morning, tomorrow, at 09:00 CET our server will be going down for an OS upgrade and other maintenance tasks that is expected to take roughly 1 hour to complete. As a result it will be offline until this maintenance is completed.
When a new map begins, if you are one of the first players to load the map, and you vote for a map straight away, the server will accept the map vote, based on the players that were when the map vote started. When the other players finish loading the map they too can vote for the map, but the server won't correct the number of votes needed for this extra players. For example, there were 4 players when a map vote started, only 3 votes are needed to get through, but then 20 players finish loading their map they can vote too, but the server doesn't correct the majority of votes, so out of 24 players only 3 votes are needed.
A map vote delay would solve this problem, or a possible workaround is to reduce the map vote time to a very short one.
Sorry, Terrence, as I've told you before, we have decided to ban you. If we are wrong, my apologies, but that's a measure we have to take to have a fair server.
