Map Rotation

Is there any way we can get a few more maps into rotation?  It seems like it's a Stalingrad/Berlin fest most of the time.  They aren't necessarily bad maps, but they get a little repetitive and Counterstrikey.

Thanks,

~S

Re: Map Rotation

Hey Soporific...fun playing with you last night!~

The server runs by a 60% vote on maps.  So when 60% or more of the players want to play those maps...it happens.

Re: Map Rotation

I like to do a !setnext command if there is a successful map vote to get back to what would have been the next map played.  Otherwise you get not only a lot of Stalingrad, but also a lot of Stalingrad followed by a lot of what follows Stalingrad in the normal rotation.

Re: Map Rotation

But like what scro said above, other night CTF Stalin - CTF Berlin - CTF Berlin and we tried to change the map but no success, then time went away.  I like CTF as much as the next guy but does kind of get old especially when its one side - Flick came in and changed it!  I love the vote map but as soon as we enter into one map someone, for some reason VOTE MAPS UP!! >.< its like dam where in the HELL is that purple eating cupcake voting machine!!

That is exactly what you should do.

Re: Map Rotation

PitViper, are you known under another handle?  I appreciate what you are saying on a 60% map vote.  I just want to see some variation.  And, on CTF Berlin/Stalingrad when the !notime or whatever it is comes out, my feelings are ah jeez this is going to take forever.  But IMHO you guys run the best server and make it very enjoyable even when I'm not in tune with the map, so thank you.  I had a 24/7 Invasion map a couple years ago, but not a big player base and no admins.

Any way of introducing lets say a 4-6PM RTR or DC or something like that kind of thing?  What would be the SiMPLEs't  big_smile  way to introduce or change it up a bit?

Thanks for reading,

~S

Hey ~S,

RTR is a separate server: https://www.gametracker.com/server_info … 115:14568/

I know, but it's about 170 ms too far. big_smile

Regarding your topic here - the server was on Berlin CTF a half hour ago, now it's Berlin Conquest sad

Just left, El Alamein and you actually crashed when chekur6 hopped in.  Actually I vote for no plane maps, because I can't counter you.  smile  I grew up on bikes.  Is that you in the picture?

Re: Map Rotation

Pull in those reins boys.  Things are popular for a reason...the minority will not dictate to the majority.  If those two maps are mapvoted and 60% say yes...that's it.

Move on.

I get it, but that's why there is a feedback forum right?  I usually just leave the server, i.e., move on.  I just think the server could use some more variety, ala the Coral Sea thread with more AA guns on the ships., etc.
