Just buy 2 powerline adapters. Since I have those: no more problems with lag or whatsoever!

Simplest solution for all of those using wireless and playing online...

You can change all those registry values from TCP Optimizer in Advanced Settings tab. I don't think disabling Nagle's algorithm will have any effect in your BF1942 ping.

   *   Here is a good explanation and i think it could be very usefull for WLAN Users.

Different WLAN Modes have different standallone Channels. But it's in german.)

http://www.administrator.de/wissen/frei … 25360.html

Here's an english Guide

In short...

> For 11n use   3 or 11

I guess, it's better to use only 20Mhz if you have in mixed-mode and 20/40Mhz problems. Remind that two different standards, (if you have two machines, one with 11g and one with 11n) could conduct instabilities too, because it's jumping between the modes. In this case it's better to set manually a 11g only or 11n only mode.

The 5Ghz Mode can be more stable, but on the other side, it can be disturbed disturbed by weatherradarsystems.

With these tools you can watch, which channels are used in you area, (incl. Neighborhood). After the analyze choose an empty one, prefered are StandalloneChannels.

> Here WifiInfo View for Windows

> Inssider for Windows

> MAC has it's own tool inside. (Diagnose for wireless).

...

It's not wrong, to restart from time to time modem and router.

Re: Solution for jumping ping and lag in games [only tested on Vista & 7]

While I playing in any server, I have lags (slowly moving, can't change weapon and if I'm in vehicle can't change side too).
I following by Syndrum's steps, but nothing changes, also I turn off firewall, browser, skype, xfire - nothing changes.

Any solutions?

That is not a network problem. Probably, you are using a power saving mode in Windows which clocks down CPU frequency. Those things you describe happen when you have very low frame rate in BF1942. What is your computer? CPU, GPU models?

Ok, changed clocked down CPU frequency from active to passive, will try to play with this later.

UPD: Notebook Acer Aspire 5830TG, Intel Core i5-2430M 2.4 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M.

And set you AV or IS to GameMode or SilentMode. Otherwise it can happen from time to time, that a BackgroundAntivirusScan is running.

Normally you can choose this in Taskbar on the right side > right click to AV or IS > GameMode or SilentMode.

Hello everyone!http://cache2.hyves-static.net/images/smilies/default/smiley_blink.gif

The last few days I was testing things out on my laptop because my ping jumped from ~30 ms to ~900 ms
And my game was lagging in every server,
so i found a solution for this problem that i want to share with you.http://cache2.hyves-static.net/images/smilies/default/smiley_yeah.gif

Since I've done this my ping is ~9 ms to ~27 ms big_smile !

Now I will explain how to solve this.

WARNING

  • Please do not touch anything else you can damage your system and make the system unstable!

  • Please make a backup before you start.

  • I have only tested this on Windows Vista & Windows 7.

  1. STEP 1: Open Command prompt as Administrator and type > netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled

    Then type > Regedit

Search Windows NT and open it
    Open CurrentVersion
    Search Multimedia and Select SystemProfile

  3. Double click on NetworkThrottlingIndex, now change that "a" to "FFFFFFFF"

    http://oi41.tinypic.com/35brst3.jpg
