meteor shower ;)

On the night of May 24, 2014 ."if predictions hold true" . Earth might be sandblasted with debris from Comet 209P/LINEAR-resulting in a fine new meteor shower

Re: meteor shower ;)

Ohhhh I just noticed this is different than the Lyrid meteor shower that just occurred. So now maybe we can see more. This one sounds more impressive. Hopefully there will be really big ones!

Re: meteor shower ;)

How? I look in the sky big_smile. Maybe it's because we don't have light pollution from cities which allows the sky to be pitch black? During the summer they are usually in the northern sky or above depending on intensity. In the winter they sometimes cover the whole sky! Usually green and stuff. But sometimes.. when they are really strong... reds, purples, pinks, blues. Pure awesomeness. The best is when you go down to the lake because you can see the horizon and there's nothing in the way for hundreds of miles and all the colors reflects of the water or ice. The only other lights may be from cargo ships but they are tiny way out there.

Re: meteor shower ;)

oh, turns out, its because Magnetic Pole is shifted regarding geographic pole, and magnetic pole located closer to you, i sure in real life, northern lights look more spectacular than in videos that i saw, lucky you! smile
interesting fact: magnetic pole moving with speed 10 km per year to north-west, in the direction of Taimyr peninsula, northen point of continental Russia
