Mouse lag

Hello

When ever I play bf1942, I have this small mouse lag when ever I look around. It feels like the mouse is milliseconds behind when moving around. This is the only game that does it, i mean, when I play Call of duty 1, there is no lag at all...
I've tried lowering the settings with no avail. I've also tried different settings on Radeon settings -tab and the Vsync is off in the game.
My mouse is USB Logitech mx518.

My comp specs:
intel i5 processor, Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H motherboard
AMD Radeon 6800 gphx card
8gig memory

Any help would be appreciated

Re: Mouse lag

Type fps 1 in game console and check what your FPS is (2nd value)

Re: Mouse lag

You allready disabled Mouse Accleration in Windows?

You can find some Info about mx518 and jitter in Google.

Some also said, it's only happening at 1600DPI

...

Btw. What OS you have?

Re: Mouse lag

My OS is win10 and Mouse acceleration is disabled on windows settings.
It's weird because other games like CoD1 doesn't lag at all, when I play bf1942, it feels like vsync is on.
I checked and it's disabled as my fps ranges from 90 to 200 (when pointing to the ground).
Maybe the game is like that, it's a very slight lag but makes playing it very uncomfortable--
also I tried some mouse acceleartion registery fix which I found from these forums but no effect (1-to-1, 6-to-11 something...)

My DPI is around 800 on Logitech setup panel.
When you guys play the game, does your mouse behave similar to other FPS games like CoD or CS? No mouse lag at anykind?

Regards, Beeko

Re: Mouse lag

...My OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit to be specific, and my directx version is 12... Maybe it's something to do with directx?
I noticed that it's my keyboard too, i mean, when I move around, the player moves slightly afterwards...
The mouse is plugged into USB 3.0 port and keyboard is too, no changes...
I think it's something to do with my computer not being fully compatible with the game, maybe the bf1942 doesn't like my gpx card, processor or alike...

Re: Mouse lag

Is there a way to force the game for RAW mouse input or something like that? It feels like there is somekind of filter on... I mean, when I press WASD any of the buttons, the player moves like 0.1 seconds afterwards ...

Try once in windowed mode.

Open the file "VideoDefault.con" and set "renderer.setFullScreen 0"

You are absolutely right, the most frequent reason of such "lag" is a Vsync (that's why I asked to check your FPS). But if FPS range is 90-200, that's not it. I have Windows 10 laptop which tries really hard (lol) to use Vsync in game in many different ways - via Nvidia Control Panel settings, Geforce Experience settings, Intel video settings, "full screen optimization" in BF1942.exe properties and so on.
Also, in windowed mode Vsync can't be turned off (in my case), whatever you do. So, if you want to play in a window, you have to play with terrible delay between mouse and your movements in game.

No, it isn't like that, I guarantee - I faced this problem many times.
From my "experience", besides Vsync, it can be caused by antialiasing. Try to switch it off completely in AMD Catalyst.

Re: Mouse lag

Arkos, I already tried in windowed mode, but the problem still persists... Could it be the windows 10 itself? Maybe installing windows 7 would solve the issue... Also all antialiasing settings are turned off. There aren't any active settings turned on in Radeon-center...
I'm running out of ideas besides of reinstalling a new OS, since its not Vsync, anti-aliasing... of what I understood, windows 10 built-in directX is compatible with dx9,10,11 so it probably isn't that one either...

Re: Mouse lag

You could try marcc Mouse fix.

http://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.com/201 … n-fix.html

And disable also Windows Welcome Screen Accleration.  (It's a reg-file > Disable_WelcomeScreen+Login_Accel.reg.

Re: Mouse lag

I tried that fix, no help... Did you mean Hardware acceleration? I don't know where that reg-file is located... I tried google but it shows results for hardware acceleration..

Re: Mouse lag

I really doubt its the mouse, as the keyboard is doing it too... When I press WASD any of the buttons, the toon moves with milliseconds of delay, same with mouse movement.. Many other players are having this issue too, so maybe it's the engine itself not being compatible with something in my computer.. Soundcard maybe?

Re: Mouse lag

The regfile is included marcc Folder.

It's a reg-file > Disable_WelcomeScreen+Login_Accel.reg (or the *.cmd file.)

Just dblclick it, accept and restart the PC.

Anyway, you can set everything to default by dblclicking "Windows_10+8.x_Default" or Windows_7+Vista+XP_Default.reg, depends on your OS.

Most game should anyway use RawInput. But accleration is not really used with newer mouses.

Re: Mouse lag

I tried that one too, same problem... I think it's not the  mouse acceleration, as the keyboard does that too... Besides, call of duty 1 runs normally in this comp, so it has to be the game engine itself or something... I can feel the laggy mouse even in the main menu...  Maybe directX is messing with the BF1942

Re: Mouse lag

Another things worth trying:
- lowest video settings in game (including resolution);
- another version of graphics card drivers (if they are up to date, some old version from 2011-2015);
- switching off full screen optimization in BF1942.exe properties

Re: Mouse lag

1. Make bootable DVD or USB with windows 7 image in it (use IMGburn for DVD, for USB use Windows USB/DVD Download Tool)
2. Backup all the files you want to save for a seperate harddrive, make sure you dont install the OS into the harddrive where all your files are you want to keep
3. Download drivers and programs you want to install on the new windows and save them to the seperate harddrive (antivirus, internet browser, etc)
3. Restart the comp having the bootable dvd or usb plugged in
4. Press boot options when bios is loading (for me thats F12, could be DEL or F8, it should be written on the first screen when you start the comp)
5. Select the CD/DVD-drive or USB-drive on boot options and install the windows on a harddrive of your choise (not the harddrive where your saved files are) (also format the drive before installing)
6. Install the drivers and programs
7. Install the BF1942 and run the bf1942.exe in compatibility mode for XP Service pack 3, also tick the "run as administrator. You find these when right clicking the .exe and selecting "properties"

If you only have 1 hard-drive, then save all the files you want to keep into a seperate usb or alike

Re: Mouse lag

...

You really want to delete windows 10 just to play bf1942?

Not true... is it?

Instead of this you can install windows 7 on an old harddisk and switch OS on Boot up by pressing F11 or which F-key it is on your MB.  (Or you buy a small cheap SSD just for 7 and Bf1942).

Or you make a DualBootSystem, where you can switch between OS at the Boot from Windows itself.

...

Intels CPU only support Windows 7 up to Skylake.

...

And if it is a OEM PC, ... don't delete the recoverypartition, if you want to delete windows 7.  Like this you could reset to factory default if needed.

...

If you have enough space on your existing harddisk, you can free some space to make another partition. Like this you can also make a DualBootSystem, choosing OS on Bootup.

...

I don't know, if it's possible to run Bf1942 in a virtual Windows 7 environment .

Ok, there's a possibility to run Games in a VM, (hardware support VT-d).

...
