Hi everyone!
For some time a question drivers me around... and I'd like to ask a -for some maybe "silly"- question.
But could it be, that the quality of videos you're watching on YT alters by the time you're watching them? Having the same PC, same specs, same equalizer settings etc... Sometimes videos seems to be played in lower quality than selected. Maybe YT comes to their limits or is forced to use quality drops due to that heavy use nowadays?
Anyone else having experience regarding this?
Best regards,
Sven
"Time of day" can indeed be true, if the throughput of the Internet connection between you and YouTube is measurably different during peak-time versus off-time or other times of the day. Like Netflix, Hulu and probably every other streaming service, they are attempting to stream a resolution that your PC can actually keep up with pausing or delaying the video to buffer more data.
Which is more a function of what your Internet throughput is at that moment, rather than what your computer's speed or screen resolution. Yes, an overload at YouTube itself would be treated the same way, but is not the only reason why the rate at which data can stream between you and YouTube could become diminished.
there should be a button to set videos to a particular desired res so that it does not change no matter what
generally when there is low bandwidth or issue in connection, the video automatically sets to lower resolutions, thats just annoying
I hate this auto stuff
...
If you run smaller Desktop Resolution then The max Quality of the video, you have to change Quality of the video manually to get best result.
