AMD recently released a new CPU series called Ryzen ,the best AMD CPUs ever with 8 physical core and 16 threads , all of new series come at 95 watt TDP , and 14nm lithography + new CPU cooler which is better than previous ones are more effecitive
The Ryzen 7 1800x chip, for instance, will be available for $499 (about £400, AU$650). That’s less than half as much as Intel wants for its Core i7-6900K.
The Ryzen 7 1700x is marketed as AMD’s mid-range chip within this series, priced at $399 (about £320, AU$520), while the Ryzen 7 1700 will be available for $329 (about £260, AU$430).
i will post some benchmarks soon
can AMD beat intel in flagships ?

The more interesting thing for me would be: "Should I upgrade? And why? Is my Intel Core 2 Duo not enough?"
I'm not sure where this all will lead us, but I have a vision. And that's inexpressible.
Cursors still blinks....
I would not upgrade to AMD,always thougth they where not as stable as Intel.
I keep my I7 för a while,we never know what comes in the future.
And i can play all new games............if i want to!
Best regards

Your thoughts are not unwarranted Diana. I once had an AMD. Didn't made it that long as my Intel's did.
"Who's got more power, who's the best, which Prozessor is the best..."
In the end, of course, we could debate that endlessly....
Remember the CPU's that had nipples? Nowadays they don't have them anymore. Just a plain thingy now. And I remember what a pain it was to replace the CPU...

You see here an overview about tests from several teams. A List compared with other cpu's.
Ryzen is a nice CPU, depends what you want do do with it.

In this list you see very well, that those test centers choose to test what they like. It depends what you want to do with your next CPU. Ryzen is prefered for MulticoreSoftware.

You know, there is also another aspect. In Games, if you won't use 1080GTX SLI to play 4 k, the new AMD will have enough power, even the cheaper modells if you play anway in 1920x1080, but even some games in 4k the processors are fast enough to fire a 1080GTX
The other question is if you play with 144Hz, but on the other side, not every game can anyway be played with 120-165Hz with an single 1080GTX.
