Re: high-ping

Yes, move closer to the server where you have high ping.

Re: high-ping

1.Upgrade your connection speed through your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Often ISP's will offer several different connection speeds for different prices. A higher connection speed will allow you to send and receive data faster and lower your ping. You can also switch to a different ISP that offers higher speeds.
2.Use a free online bandwidth testing tool such as BandwidthPlace to ensure you are receiving the speed promised by your ISP. If you are not receiving the advertised speed, let your ISP know and they will attempt to optimize your internet speed.

3.Use a wired internet connection instead of a wireless connection or router. A fixed line connection allows for a more stable flow of data and will lead to lower ping and smoother game play. Additionally, a wired connection avoids the possibility of other computers simultaneously using the internet and using up bandwidth.

4.Disable any firewalls, such as ZoneAlarm, Norton, and McAfee. Although this step may expose your computer to temporary risks, many firewalls substantially slow down internet connection speed. Disabling firewalls that directly monitor web traffic will lower your ping.

5.Exit any applications that may be using up bandwidth. Heavy bandwidth users include applications or browsers that are downloading music, video or other files. Light bandwidth users include chat programs, open browsers and any other application that uses the internet in any way.

6.Choose a server that is geographically close to you. Using servers that are geographically close to you to lowers your ping because the amount of time it takes for a data packet to travel between yourself and the server will be reduced. Use filter options to sort servers by region or look up the IP address to find out where it is hosted.

7.Adjust in-game settings to make sure that there is no default bandwidth cap. This depends on each individual game. The best strategy is to use Google to search for the name of the game you are playing together with the term "bandwidth cap" and browse the results.

Exactly !

I used to have a 512kbps connection, on that, I used to get kicked very rarely for ping .. ping was quite stable back then.

Now my ISP is giving me 2MBps at the same price, But the ping is so unstable, I get kicked like 10 times on a single map..
And at night I cant even connect to any servers cuz the ping is so darn high !

In the speed test, I observed that my ISP name/host has changed. May be my ISP has changed its server or routes...

Forget what he said...

You live far away from the Simple Fra server.

Better would be if you play on USA Servers or, if there are any, on Southamerican Servers.

One american server is:

socialRejects | BF1942 [USA] - 168.235.75.198:14567

...

The only thing what you could do, is > download TCP Optimizer http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details … mizer.html

> Run it as admin > Choose your InetSpeed > choose Optimal > Save > restart PC.

Re: high-ping

I ve watched a lot of players pings during the game and since half a year/ayear the number of ping spikes and autokicks because of the ping spikes i growing up a lot. Sometimes it seems like there is a pattern in it like 1 is ping spiking and a few others are following. Furthermore all of these spikes growing just for seconds up to a minute then back to constant... I didnt watched that the years before in this intensity. So wtf is this ?? Fail in the Matrix?

OVH HoP Server and on the other side the INet is now also used for streaming and TV Motion. So the modems use an alternative setting for Bandwidth and not anymore deep ping.

You can call your provider and they can change it back, if you really want it. In Swiss they know about it. I can tell you the precise name of this feature, if needed.

Re: high-ping

@NZKMT

If you have CableInet or VDSL including Digital TV the providers change sometimes the setting inside the Modem to "Interleaving = medium" or "high".

Some people reported here, after they changed to Digital TV or got a new modem, that they had 15-20 higher ping. And some could fix this by calling the provider to change it back to Interleaving = low and it worked. The Ping came down 13-25ms

But it depends on the quality of the signal. If this was anyway not that good before it can be you have some packetloss or errors later. But if the signal is strong enough it's no ptoblem.

The signal noise pitch/ratio should not be higher then 10db between Up and Downlowd.
