I am thinking about to buy a joystick for dogfights. Are there any benefits I should know about?

i got some simple logitech one ~15€ or so, don't remember but i'm not happy with it since i got it because this stoneage microsoft keyboard which i had before gave me a better control of the plane( at least i think so)

Timmos is a pro allrounder, the best of the best in everything, everywhere, any time.

@Nämeless: I guess it's just a matter of what you're used to.
I never used the keyboard to fly but I bet the joystick is much more 'natural' and due using the top hatch it's probably easier to look around you while in a df.

I've never flown with the joystick, but I've heard from people that it takes time to get used to it. Before, I used this mouse while flying and I am overwhelmed.

i fly with mouse and beat allmost all joystick users, so waht about me buying a joystick? haha nuubs!

and am not pro allround, just pro tank plane and everything EXEPT inf. it just sucks

Have you tried a combination of both the mouse and keyboard?

I rebind the space bar so it also acts as "pull up", that way i don't constantly have to pull at the mouse in dogfights. Use the mouse to turn and fine tune pulling up/down. Cockpit look round is also easy this way.

Fly with what you feel good. DrStrange also flies with mouse + keyboard and our old pilot just flew with keyboard. I played as a kid with C64 and Amiga, so i like playing with joystick.

I belive ya cuz its quite impossible to do the same moves u need in a doefight with a mouse.. Ultra flys only with the keyboard i think

the names i know are already mentioned
some of the pas pilots use/used mouse & keyboard

that some use the keyboard only is new to me. i thought that joystick or mouse & keyboard are used most.
however, im a crappy pilot, so dont blame me for newbie knowledge

And i don't get how someone can fly with mouse and keyboard. I would rather play with keyboard only.
