My point is this, and i shall silence myself after making it, as i understand that this may be tedious for all those involved. I have played BF since it was first released all those years ago, it's a game i enjoy thoroughly, and i do tend to play by the rules, I dont TK excepted as a response to first being TK'd, and only then when there are no admins around to enforce the rules, I generally avoid base raping, bombing etc, unless the team im playing against is cowering in their base and not going anywhere. And while i may occasionally be guilty of use of colorful language, again it is seldom without prior provocation(ie being tk'd or mocked by other players). I have never come into any conflict with admins, nor prior to this had i been banned from any server, I respect what admins do, and i do my best to support them where and when i can(ie reporting abusive players etc). With that in mind you should understand that part of my enjoyment of this game stems from being able to get to know my fellow players and conversing with them openly, sometimes even hoping to impart to them what little knowledge i may be capable of sharing, as was the case yesterday prior to my ban, I was explaining to a fellow player the historical significance of the name which i use in-game, it was at this point that George warned me not to spam, however in protesting, and saying that i wasnt spamming but rather that i was conversing (which the player i was talking agreed with me on), i received a ban, temporary or otherwise. I am not a difficult person, i don't break the rules unless it cannot be avoided, and i certainly would not be making this much of a deal on this if i felt i had not been wronged unjustly. If the chat function of BF is not for open conversation, free from scrutiny where abuses have not been committed, then what point is there in having a chat function to begin with? To arbitrarily ban those you feel are talking to much goes against everything that i feel this game should be about, after all it is modeled on a real world conflict which was fought to protect these very freedoms. Do not assume that i have a great need to play this game, i have much more recent games on my computer, as well as a console with a full compliment of great games, but i choose to play BF partly because it is classic, and partly because of the community which the game creates, take away our ability and right to converse with one another and you destroy what to me is the soul and essence of the game.. thank you for your time, i hope this gives you all some insight into my position and why i felt it necessary to bring the issue to this forum.
