Great work uuzz and I appreciate your precious time on these fixes.

This is a completely random question but have you ever thought about trying to enable the dormant weather system code in bf1942? Apache Thunder was the first to do it with the cloud system. He has mentionned in some old post on BF Mods that the next easiest weather effect to have the potential to be enabled would be the lens flares system as a lot of the code is still there. Is there any possibility to bring it back along with other weather effects perhaps?

These are all excellent additions. Perhaps an exception could be made for the custom DLL in PB servers so that clients running the patch dont get kicked.

Colored buddies would be awesome and help a lot for wars.

In terms of accessibility, it would be nice if all these additions were bundled in a community patch (perhaps bf v1.613) and made available through a simple installer. There have been a lot of nice additions over the years.

Everyone is affected by this patch, including the better players. I don’t know why he would get more kills vs better players in that case.

Thanks for the update tuia. I’m going to try out the new server location.

Are there any future plans to update the forums / site and perhaps bring back the tournament and stats sections that used to be part of the site a while ago? Seeing that BFTracks closed shop and only Gametrackers tracks player statistics properly, I think an alternative would be nice.

As for content check my position has always been to have it enabled with the stock version of BF1942 v1.61 or 1.612 but that would require a lot of work and will ultimately be a population killer as was already mentionned.

If PB wasn’t so useless I would also like to see it implemented on the server.

I suspect this too. Historically, hit registrations have always been more consistent in Moon vs SiMPLE.

You got it all here to manage without any effort, just some but licking, i bet you dont even know how to open rfa file. My server is just there as backup in case you kill the only EU server, which it might happen if you continue managing like that.

Paul and RaketenHorst are two great admins, much better than the ones we had before. Nobody is perfect though, hopefully this issue gets resolved privately.

One problem I noticed is after a while, the game freezes and crashes to desktop. I am using GPU scaling in the Nvidia Control Panel + the dgVoodoo fix. Any idea why that might happen?

Max, write a few rules, let us know when the tournament starts, and I'll make a team. Make sure the servers have the hit registration patch too.

Recording should also be mandatory, either via Stream or ShadowPlay/OBS.

Is it possible to force the game into a 4:3 aspect ratio, like in this image:

What I want is the picture in the middle, a 4:3 ratio, with black bars on each side.

I have tried various things, like changing the Aspect Control in my monitor settings (it's greyed out), swapping cables (HDMI and DisplayPort), installing the latest monitor driver and changing the resolution to 800x600 in Windows settings, but nothing works. Customer service is also useless.

Any ideas on how to get the 4:3 resolution with black bars?

Hi guys, does anyone remember the command that goes in the target line to move the default position of the screen when you play in windowed mode (renderer.fullscreen 0)? When I play in windowed mode, part of my HUD is not visible.

I would like to be able to center the position of the window, or to change its position so that I can see the entire HUD.

Yes Serebro, he tested it and it’s him in the video…

I don’t really see any disadvantages here. Seems the effect of this patch is more pronounced the greater the ping difference between players.

There is server-side patch that drastically improves the hit registration while targeting infantry. On the stock version of the game, you are required to lead your target based on your ping. The higher the ping, then the further you would need to lead your target. For infantry especially, a ping above 80-90 usually meant that you were going to have a tough time hitting your shots since the hit registration gets increasingly worse the higher your ping.

Now players can aim directly at their target without having to worry about leading to compensate for ping. I've tested this extensively on pings as low as 8 to as high as 220. Even at 220 ping, the hit registration was better than having 30 ping normally. Watch the video below for an in-game demonstration before/after. The video was recorded on the Desert Combat mod, but this patches vanilla and other mods as well.

And to make things even more convenient, this patch is able to be applied server-side, which means that the regular players will not have to download or install anything as long as the server they're joining is running the patch.

Great, thanks for the demonstration. I think the difference is pretty obvious in the video.

The patch should be extensively tested in infantry maps to see how significant the difference is.

I would advise sharing this video on as many platforms as possible (Discords, forums).

Ultimately, one could host a NA vs EU competition without people bitching about regs.

Cool. Is there a patch for Windows servers too?

As I understand it, that patch activates the admin.collisionLatency command and sets it to a smaller value.

And is there a download link for server hosts somewhere?
