What are the differences between the bright yellow servers and the (not bright) white ones?
And should I know what the symbols on the left side mean?
The 1.6.19 patch wouldn't install. It said that this patch upgrades from 1.6.000 to 1.6.001 and I have v1.6.1 installed. Or something like that. Oh well, I guess that wasn't the issue. But I wonder why when I tried to connect to a server (non-SiMPLE) it said I didn't have the proper version and would I like to update?
What? I am not a troll. I am just doing what you asked. Why would you say that?
Isn't this more relevant?:

Dude, it's just a router shares one single Internet connection to multiple devices.
I think you need to have a look at this:
http://www.uscellular.com/mobile-hotspots/index.html
(you apparently don't understand the new tech)
My Satellite modem is currently unplugged.
Try to execute this in Windows console and you will get your ping value:
ping -t 188.165.220.115
Thanx for the answer. I got lots of different ping times, from 182 to 1233; twice it timed out in 47 tests; and most were just under 200. 10 were >400. Only 4+2(timeouts) were above 500; 2+2 were above 1000. How's that?
Hi HalloweenWeed,
Latest update is v1.61. Nevermind, v1.61b or v1.6.19 names, it's just confusing. There is BF1942 version 1.6 and 1.61, simply put.
Your satellite internet connection is not suitable for multiplayer. Because of the instability, you get the "warning: connection problems detected" messages.
For tips and recommendations you can read a BF1942 guide, if you have the time: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/466245-battl … faqs/21120
No, you didn't read far enough. I am using 4G hotspot, not the Satellite.
Hi,
Some of you may have seen me in the past few days on BF1942. My Internet connection is not the best, but it's the best I can get. I have satellite Internet, you can't play on Satellite, but I just got a US Cellular smartphone W/4G hotspot. Still my downloads are less than 10MBps, but my ping times on Speedtest are around 125, which is playable. I still have problems with occasional unresponsiveness, and "warning: connection problems detected." Is this common to most?
Another thing, I only had 1.61b patch, and I see now there is a 1.6.19 patch. I am currently downloading it to see if it helps, 1/2 hr. remaining. I have Punkbuster, Desura and Desert Combat installed (not using it for your SiMPLE servers).
I played the heck out of single-player BF1942 a decade ago, and it has been years since I played. Now I can try multiplayer, and I am rusty. I am getting killed from afar from small arms fire before I can get a bead on them. I can't fly either, I just don't get the mouse flying controls, they seem horrid. So I like the tank maps best - hate Midway.
I need tips/recommendations please.
