It was not possible to adjust vehicle strength in my testing. For example, Fletcher2 is weaker than Fletcher, yet it would not allow changes.
The objective towers strength did allow an increase, but that was on a Windows server. Linux & Windows can react differently (deathbubbles for example), so I did not send tuia a Brit mod with increased tower strength in fear of it crashing the server.

mmm, that would be awful. Moongamers has a better solution to diminish plane superiority - remove bomb resupply from runways. Players must get a plane to obtain more bombs.

The problem is the dedicated server will not accept the public IP i give it.
Please stop trying that. As mentioned earlier, that is for the internal (LAN) IP only.
Try this:
- Navigate to the Mods\BF1942\Settings folder.
- Open the ServerSettings.con file with an editor.
- Add this line: game.serverIP [Your-AWS-internal-IP] (without brackets)
- If you're using BFServerManager.exe, add that line to the ServerManager.con also.
Launch the server. If your box is still empty, you could repeat those edits, then
write protect the files. (haven't tested that, so unsure if game issues may result)

If not, the server is still misconfigured, has a filewall block, or Henks server patch is not properly installed.
If your client machine does not have Henk's client patch, your in game browser will not see it.
If you'd like to connect directly to your server with or without using Henks client patch,
type this in a command window from within your BF folder:
BF1942.exe +restart 1 +joinServer yourAWSexternalP

Rather than an open firewall, you just need to forward 14567 & 23000
Disregard that "Setting up GameSpy" msg. It is harmless.
Your LAN IP is meant to show in that box. It must reflect the address where your server resides.

Hi Mediocre, we carefully investigated the case and since you were the player who started to offend test01 in chat and to provoke him we concluded that the ban was fair. Rules clearly mention that it's forbidden to use bullying/trolling/provoking to spark a reaction etc. in game chat. Since you were supposed to know the rules, no warning and no previous kick was given. Test01's answers were not really polite but he only answered to your (and I believe Latino's) provocations so most responsibility on what happened is on you as you initiated this to provoke him. Personally I don't think we shall ban severely for just some words but when the things go out of line then it becomes necessary to take action and 1 day ban is an appropriate measure for in my opinion, also because you still didn't see anything wrong in your actions as we can see from your posts.
They both deserve removal. Alvarez has been trolling free for a decade.
It is no surprise to see test replicate this same demeanor.

Paul, "has4" has never trolled me that I'm aware of. He asked a legit question.
He also said "nice 7" for killing two Tigers before I was disconnected.
The "lol u got him test" was after test bombed an enemy w/ B17.
I don't know has4 at all, but wanted to clear this up on his behalf.
Upon reconnect, I was placed on Red and unable to rejoin blue. No B17 for seVen
Test is very confused on what the rules consist of. And when he bails while looping
every map, also "denying a kill" like he says, I say nothing to him. It is all allowed.
The mention of tuia was in response to test being allowed to continue this behavior,
and no admins willing to step up. This shit is getting old...

SeVen, your playable map pool is like 3 maps - birtain, midway and guadalcanal and all you do is sit in a ship or deathbail somewhere. How would you know anything about playing tank/inf maps and attacking? I'd like to see you try
Two issues were addressed: a reason for more vehicles, and a reason why spawn-waves alone won't work.

Seems to be an endless supply of theories on the player count here now,
as mentioned in a few threads recently. Some blame the mods, some blame
server settings, while some blame both.
Creating "spawn waves" may not yield your desired results on it's own.
Players may continue do their own thing, like waiting for vehicles or
just chatting. More likely, you'd need verbal coordination as well.
Seems unlikely to me, given the games age and player mentality.
Some mention Kursk, which in it's stock form provided three tanks per side.
DICE thought that was a good idea yet the players did not. So here we are
with added vehicles and similar situations across other maps..
One of causes can be when you have object on map that wasnt designed by devs for bots to use, like submarines, so you need to remove such vehicles i guess
One option which may work in that regard - force the spawngroup to "only human".
So using a sub for example, you'd edit the Game\GlobalSpawnGroups.con

I was going to try this method for a couple things on PipeR's server, but never got to it.
El Al: switch to CQ, add a [slight] turbo to jeeps instead of that flying nonsense.
Kursk: remove airplanes regardless of game mode.
Btw - Kursk has four spawns in the house, and one spawn in the barn for Axis,
and three spawns in the house, and one spawn in the barn for Allies on CQ.
For CTF, there is one additional spawn in the house for Allies.
Very easy to fix that mess.

- Players are allowed to wait for vehicle spawns
- Server has an auto-kick for afk
- Admins should ask if player is afk, but you knew I wasn't regardless
- Deathbail? I was a ship. You yourself bailed then suicided on Battleaxe, so there's that..
yet I was active, speaking in game, and waiting for ship to spawn.

how do you modify kill chat to have +3 lines?
You can adjust the following via console or by editing GeneralOptions.con Denny:
chat.setChatMessageSize
chat.setGameInfoMessageSize
chat.setKillMessageSize
Just keep in mind that the maximum lines = 12
You can enter this in console to show your current values:
chat.chatInfo
I've been using this setup for a while:
chat.setChatMessageSize 5
chat.setGameInfoMessageSize 2
chat.setKillMessageSize 5
Here is the old style if you want to try that:
chat.OldChatListStyle 1/0 (If set to 1, the old v1.2 message window model is used)
chat.OldChatListHistory # (No. of rows used if the old message window model is used)
Can't recall how many lines this will offer, but it is a messy display regardless..
