Thank you Jim2102, and Blood for this helpful advice.  I am finally getting all of my BF42 mods working again after a long hiatus due in part to technical problems.

I used to play the original EoD heavily, and I also vaguely recall the BF2 mod.
I had purchased Lotte's EoD edition a couple of years back, but couldn't seem to find any MP servers and never had time to research it.  Is this a firewall setting or do you think the game is more of a single player release?

I reinstalled 1918 and am playing co-op on the Badewiese server now.  Everything seems to be working now.  This is the first time in years I've been able to play it.  Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Granate -

I would love to play BF1918 some time.  It will always have a special place in my heart and is one of my all time favorite games to play after it was released, up until the servers seemed to disappear.  The maps and vehicles are really special.  Please let me know if another event is planned.  I'm in the USA so weekends are probably most suitable.  I do recall having some trouble getting the executable to work and may need some guidance if a reinstall is not successful.

Thank you,

FFK

So far, so good with the SIMPLE USA server.  However, I cannot connect to the French servers.  Added the server to the game browser as it's listed on Gametracker:188.165.220.115:14568 and it simply won't connect and I'm not getting the "data differs" error mentioned on another FR server thread.

Running RTR/SW and SIMPLE custom maps along with the gamespy patch.

Thank you Tuia.

I installed the patch and it does seem more stable now.  Still crashing when I hit FH servers so there appears to be some issues I need to sort out.

Dear SiMPLE Members,

I wanted to pass along a solution to an annoying issue I've encountered:

My preference is to fly with a joystick and use a Razer speedpad in lieu of the keyboard.

The setup can be tricky to get this working properly so here's something you may want to try:

On Windoze 7:
"Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers"

There will be two drivers for the Razer, select and disable the generic looking one called "HID-compliant game controller" Confirm that under it's hardware tab, Razer Nostromo is disabled.

Leave the second "Razer branded" and logitech drivers alone and let me know if this helps you out.

I suspect this issue may apply to other gaming devices as well so it's worth keeping in mind while troubleshooting conflicts.

Thank you,

FFK

Dear SiMPLE Gurus,

I was thrilled to see the RTR/SW & Simple Maps available but seem to have hosed my Origin client-based BF1942 after running the installs.

Now the game crashes @ launch with the bf1942.exe error.  I'm now thinking I may need to dump Origin and re-purchase the retail release.

Before I do that I figured I'd post a note here and see if any of you have encountered the same issue.

Kind Regards,

FastFoodKills
